There are times when all of us might feel not good enough in some areas or aspects of our lives.
It makes sense as, in a world where most of validation and worth looks to be externally met, the feeling of not enough is scattered all around.
Often, it infiltrates in such subtle ways that we cannot pinpoint when it started to become part of our life.
You might have heard it repeatedly in the media. In the stories you heard about success and failure. In conversations about growth and self- development.
It can lead us to feel overwhelmed without having a clear explanation for, and for which the more we fight and push back or deny, it can resurface stronger.
Our bodies might experience freeze states where we feel stuck, unable to find a way forward, while we feel the adrenaline that comes with having to... "I have to face this" , "I have to push through" , "I have to come with a solution, show results, prove myself, etc."
We can start getting out of this freeze state by firstly naming our emotions while experiencing the feelings of not enough. We can name what triggered us, what led us to feel this way. We can make sense of it so we can better hold space for the discomfort and the pain.
We can look at the unmet needs surfacing up and reflect on what need we can now meet with the resources at hand.
We then shift from not engaging in the narrative of lacking, to meeting ourselves with compassion, understanding that it's deeply human to long for improvement. That is part of our driving force, and it can lead us towards discovering our capacity to create and make things happen.
Take a restful breath here and remember that you are a human being experiencing life with its polarity.
Nevertheless you are whole.
Let this be your anchor, supporting you to connect to the enoughness already present in you.
Breathe it in.
Allow it to become your shelter.
