Holding, being held and holding onto

Our hands have a story of their own.
They carry memories of grasping, crafting, pulling close and pushing out. Our hands allow us to express our emotions, and in return, they tell us when emotions were being felt, through warmth, tingling, heaviness or getting clammy.

Faithful companions, our hands follow us everywhere, supporting movement from within.

They allow us to embrace and to hold something dear close. They cling when they sense we're not yet ready to let go.

What happens to our hands when they are held? Palm in other palm, fingers crossing and holding, temperatures recorded from our own to the other. We greet and stay awhile and sometimes we are parted too soon. And all that is left now is the memory of that embrace to hold onto. If we close our eyes for a second we can almost sense the feeling of our hand being held, the warmth, the closeness, the safety of home within another.
